Pretty Boy Italian Steakhouse

The restaurant is on the Novotel/Ibis Hotel building on the 1st floor. I stayed at the Novotel and initially just wanted to have a drink but seeing the dishes coming out of the open kitchen made me decide to stay for dinner.
I was seated at the bar where I could watch the chefs prepare the meals. The restaurant was about half full at 7pm on a Saturday. If you go with more people it's better to book.
The menu had a god selection of starters, pasta and of course steaks. The recommended house dishes are highlighted by a black boarder, and included home baked rosemary foccicia bread for starters, squid ink Linguini and the Tiramisu.
I was tempted by the Linguini but decided last minute to go for a 300g rump, medium rare. The meats come with a red wine sauce only so I opted for a bowl of fries from the sides selection.
The meat was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The sauce comes on the side which is good because I enjoyed the seasoned meat without it as well. The fries came with tomato sauce and aioli mayonnaise which was very good. A perfect steak Frites meal!
I should have left it at that but I spotted Affogato on the dessert menu and I love Affogato so I ordered it with Frangelico. Unfortunately this was a bit of a let down. The vanilla bean  ice cream was not scooped but scraped in to the bowl and had crystallised so much that the vanilla flavor was gone. As it gets drowned in espresso and liquer it melts anyway but it didn't turn into the creamy Affogato texture.
Would definitely come back for the steak!

It was an unsatisfying experience of food.
The octopus was overcooked tasting like it had been DEAD for ages and the crab pasta is too salty that made me drink cups of water. At the end, they offered me a free Tiramisu and two glasses of wine for making up.

Good food, steaks cooked perfectly. However the portions were small, the signature crab pasta was very fishy, not my cup of tea. I did think it was expensive for what you got, as we were still hungry. However, the stand out would have to be the tiramisu and the focaccia with the truffle butter. Amazing, highly recommend ordering those.

Amazing food. Best t bone steak I ever had. Just cooked to perfection plus red wine jus also very tasty. Big thanks to Chef who dedicated his good work through this piece of steak on 8 of November. Will definitely go back again soon.

I was drawn to dine here after seeing a pasta promotion advertised in the elevator, available from 5pm to 10pm on Thursdays. My expectations were soon let down when I discovered only one dish was available under this offer. Moreover, the pasta served was overwhelmingly cheesy to the point of being inedible for my taste. At $25, I had hoped for a dish that balanced flavors and ingredients better, providing value for money. A broader selection and careful consideration to dish composition would have made for a more pleasant experience.
