Warner Bros. Movie World, where do I even start!
Movie World is an absolute must-visit, especially if you’re on the Gold Coast. Typically, the park operates from 10am to 5pm, but during January peak season (for about two weeks), hours extend to 9:30am–6pm, which really helps to fit more in.
There’s ample parking, but be prepared—it does get very crowded, especially during school holidays. Make sure you allow extra time for queues. Popular rides like Scooby-Doo and Wild Wild West took over an hour for us. A great tip is to download the Movie World app, which helps you check live queue times and plan your day better.
One of the highlights is the daily parade at 4:30pm, which is great for both kids and adults. There are plenty of food options and souvenir shops, but keep in mind that everything inside is quite pricey—expected for a theme park.
Make sure to stay hydrated, take breaks, and try a mix of thrill rides and family-friendly rides—there’s something suitable for everyone. Also, the connecting buses between theme parks are very convenient if you’re visiting multiple parks.
Overall, it’s a fun-filled, exciting experience and definitely worth visiting at least once. Just plan ahead, be patient with queues, and enjoy the magic! 🎢✨

We visited Movie World during our trip to Qld. As it was over the school holidays we decided to go on a wet day so the park wouldn't be super busy, but the crowd was massive.

Rides are amazing. At $245 per person it was totally worth getting a fast track ticket as wait times were between an hour to two hours per ride and a fast track pass was a five minute wait. Using the fast track ticket your allowed to use it once per ride.

Food was average and pricey but that's to be expected at all theme parks.

The parade at the end of the day was fabulous.

Please keep in mind that if it's raining the stunt show is cancelled and this is not explained anywhere on their website and we really wanted to see the new show. We returned another day to watch the stunt show.

All in all it was an amazing day and fun filled for the whole family. We will be back in the future.

Fantastic day out with the family over the summer holidays. Visited with my 3 teenage kids - ride wait times were reasonable most of the day. The new stunt show was a lot of fun. Got to go on the elusive scooby spooky coaster!! Husband and son the the DC rivals backwards and loved it!! The new wizard of oz precinct and rides are great, we went through twice. Iconic parade at the end of the day - always brings the nostalgia. Did not disappoint. Always a must with a Gold Coast holiday.

We absolutely loved our time at Movie World! It was such an interactive and fun experience for the whole family. We were incredibly lucky to visit during a quiet period; having hardly any queues made the experience awesome. I can definitely see how long wait times would change the vibe, so we felt very fortunate.

We spent three days here and it’s truly a must do for both kids and adults. My only piece of advice, check the maintenance schedule before you go. We were a bit gutted that three of the big rides were closed during our visit, so definitely look ahead to avoid disappointment.

Fantastic family day out – even during peak season

We had an amazing day at Movie World with the family. There’s so much to do for all ages, from the big thrill rides to family-friendly attractions and shows, so everyone found something they loved.

We visited during one of the busiest weeks of the year, so the wait times were longer earlier in the day, which was expected. That said, staying later really paid off. In the late afternoon, once a lot of people started heading home, we managed to get on heaps of rides with much shorter waits — easily the best part of the day.

A huge shout-out to the cast and crew. Everyone we encountered was super friendly, helpful, and genuinely obliging, even with the park being so busy. It really makes a difference and adds to the overall experience.

The park is clean, well organised, and easy to navigate, with plenty of food options, shaded areas, and places to take a break when needed. Everything feels well run, even during peak crowds.

Overall, a fantastic family day out and well worth the visit. With a bit of planning and patience during busy times, you’ll have an awesome experience. We’d happily go back again.
